Forge: say what you are making, and the nine other dials set themselves
Forge makes an advertising image from a choice of what you are making, with every remaining decision already filled in and explained.

What it does
- Forge is a second way to make an image, reached from the dashboard. Studio's Create is still the shortest path from a brief to a picture.
- Forge asks what you are making, then hands back every remaining decision as one of nine dials: outcome, subject, scene, frame, quality, references, words, finish, how many.
- It starts with twelve outcomes across four families: Pack and product, Paid creative, Marketplace and Social — from a studio pack shot and a styled still life to an offer creative, an Amazon main image, a quick-commerce tile, a reel cover and a quote card.
- Forge draws within the brand's own colours and Brand language: the palette is read from the brand's assets, and the brand's studied images go into the instruction as a description to match.
- A Forge run is filed in Brand content as a generated image, kept as a project with its own ref, and studied for insights like every other image the platform makes. The dials are kept so a run can be repeated.
How it works
- A dial on auto is not unset. It holds a real value Forge chose, shown on the rail, with one sentence in the right-hand column saying why.
- Each outcome carries its own rules, compiled into the instruction. An Amazon main image is built to the listing rules: pure white edge to edge, the product filling most of the frame, no text, badges, watermarks, borders or props, at the square size the listing wants.
- The Quality dial shows three tiers openly, with what each is good at. If you pick a tier yourself, Forge leaves your choice alone and tells you if it would have chosen differently.
- A run can carry up to three reference images and up to four lines of copy. References are directional: Forge matches their register and is told never to reproduce a logo, brand name, product or copy from a reference.
- Every outcome is its own action in the search palette: typing “amazon” offers the Amazon main image and lands on that outcome's dials.
- Forge's instruction is built on the server, never in the browser. The browser sends keys and ids, never a prompt, and the compiled prompt is never returned.
What it never does, and what it asks first
- Every run is told to invent no claim, certification, price, offer, rating or statistic, and no brand name, logo or mark other than the ones supplied.
- An outcome built from a product needs one before it can be drawn. Forge says so rather than guessing.
- A preview of a run gives a summary and counts — outcome, frame, scene, copy lines, references, rules, tier — and costs nothing, so it never asks for confirmation.
Where it stands today
- Forge is on the dashboard and its drawing step is deployed; previews, which cost nothing, work today. The image-making capability is still being switched on for workspaces, so Forge has not yet produced an image.
- Finish and How many are on the rail so the decision is visible, but Forge draws one image per run today. Several per run comes with batching.
- Credits are switched off on the live site today: nothing is charged.
Questions
How is Forge different from Create in Studio?
Create asks what you have got — a brief, a product, a reference, your own content. Those are ways in. Forge asks what you are making, and then fills in every remaining decision for you, each with one sentence saying why. Both make an image; Create is still the shortest path from a brief to a picture.
Do I have to set all nine dials?
No. Every dial already holds a value chosen for the outcome you picked, shown on the rail with its reason. You change only what you want to. Nobody fills in a blank.
Can I choose which tier draws it?
Yes. The Quality dial shows three tiers openly, with what each is good at. If you pick one yourself, Forge leaves your choice alone, and if it would have chosen differently it tells you what you overruled.
Will Forge make up a claim or change my packaging?
Every run is told to invent no claim, certification, price, offer, rating or statistic, and no brand name, logo or mark other than the ones you supplied, and the outcome rules say to keep packaging, label artwork, proportions and colour as in your reference. Like every image the platform makes, the result is then studied, so what came out is on record.
Can I make several images in one run?
Not yet. How many is on the rail so the decision is visible, but Forge draws one image per run. Several per run comes with batching.
